Properties: Bitter; cold.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and resolves toxin; disinhibits urine and frees strangury. Treats red and white dysentery; diarrhea; heat strangury; red eyes; sparrow blindness (night blindness); wind-heat reddening and swelling of the skin.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (30–60) or extract juice. Topical: Apply juice or decoct as a wash.
