Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and slightly bitter; balanced.

Actions and indications: Moistens the lung and relieves cough; dispels phlegm, reduces inflammation, and stanches bleeding. Treats cough; wheezing and panting; pneumonia; bronchitis; toxin swelling of welling-abscesses (yōng) and sores; bleeding from external injury.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–15g). Topical: Apply crushed.

Warnings: Clashes with aconite main tuber.
