Properties: Sweet and bitter; cool.

Actions and indications: Clears heat; disinhibits dampness; cools the blood. Treats intestinal wind bleeding; dysentery; vaginal discharge.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (3–9g dried, 30–60g fresh) or grind to a powder (1.5–3g).

Quality: Large white flowers are the best.

Production area: Widely cultivated.
