Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter and acrid; balanced.

Channel entry: Liver and lung channels.

Actions and indications: Diffuses the lung; relieves cough; promotes sweating; disinhibits water; moves qì and quickens the blood. Treats common cold and cough; wheezing and panting; water swelling; distension and fullness; urinary stoppage; child food accumulation; amenorrhea; injury from knocks and falls; welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū), clove and streaming sores.

Dosage and method: Oral: (6–15g dried, 30–60g crushed). Topical: Crush.
