Properties: Slightly acrid; slightly warm.

Channel entry: Liver and spleen channels.

Actions and indications: Courses wind and frees the network vessels; strengthens the sinews and bone. Treats wind-cold-damp impediment (fēng hán shī bì); joint pain; numbness and tingling of the skin; enteritis; dysentery.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g), grind to a powder, or steep in wine.
