Properties: Sour and bitter; cold.

Indications:

Clears heat and resolves toxin; dispels wind and disinhibits dampness.

sore swollen pharynx; welling-abscesses (yōng) and sores; scrofula; hepatitis; pulmonary welling-abscesses (fèi yōng); pain in the sinews and bones; stomach pain; bacillary dysentery; vaginal discharge.

Dosage & Method: Oral: Decoct (12–30g) or grind to a powder. Topical: Crush and apply juice.

Product Area: Jiāngsū, Zhèjiāng, Jiāngxī, Shǎnxī (Shaanxi), Hénán, Húběi, Húnán, Guǎngdōng, Guǎngxī, Sìchuān, and Yúnnán.
