Product description: The dried alga is cylindrical, with man branches and forks. It is about 3–7 mm thick and is grayish green in color, with a brown hue. It is covered with many hair-like branches, those at the bases often having been lost. It is strong and supple in texture. It is slightly slimy to the taste.
Etymology: The name hǎi rén cǎo 海人草 literally means sea man grass.
