Notes: Always used charred. Lǐ Shízhēn stated that, of the alternate names luàn fǎ 乱发 and fá bèi 发髲, the former denoted hair taken from combs and the latter hair cut from the head. Note that the Latin pharmacognostic name should be Hominis Crinis,
but the Chinese Pharmacopoeia omits the Hominis
is Crinis Carbonisatus.
