Similar in action to Mù tōng (木通 Akebiae Trifoliatae Caulis, trifoliate akebia) and used interchangeably with it. It is used for water swelling, strangury,
Dosage & Method: Oral: 3–6 g in decoctions.
Warnings: All forms of mù tōng are used with caution in pregnancy.
