Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter and acrid; slightly warm; toxic.

Actions and indications: Settles pain; relieves cough; disinhibits urine; resolves toxin. Treats pain in the stomach and intestines; jaundice; water swelling; scab (jiè), lichen (xiǎn), and swollen sores; snake and insect bites.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (1.5–6g). Topical: Apply crushed.
