Use: Medicinal

Properties: Acrid and bitter; cool; nontoxic*.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and resolves toxin. Treats common cold; headache wind; diarrhea; painful swollen throat; red eyes; toxin swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng) and sores; bleeding from hemorrhoids.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–9g) or extract juice by crushing. decoct as a wash or apply crushed.
