Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter^✽; balanced.^✽

Actions and indications: Courses interior and clears heat; resolves toxin and disperses stasis. Treats influenza; encaphilitis B; painful swollen throat; enteritis; dysentery; jaundice; intestinal welling-abscesses (cháng yōng); child fright wind; child gān accumulations; sores, scab (jiè), and hemorrhoids.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–30g dried, 3–6g fresh). Topical: Apply crushed or decoct as a wash.
