Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter and acrid; cool.

Actions and indications: Clears heat; dispels phlegm; disinhibits dampness. Treats painful swollen throat; cough; damp-heat jaundice; nephritis; water swelling; dysentery; white turbidity; wind-damp pain in the bones; toothache; painful swollen testicles.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g). Topical: Decoct as a gargle.
