Red Spirit Wine
红灵酒 〔紅靈酒〕hóng líng jiǔ

Ingredients:
- Shēng dāng guī (生当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix Cruda, raw Chinese angelica [root]) 60g
- Hóng huā (红花 Carthami Flos, carthamus [flower]) 30g
- Huā jiāo (花椒 Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, zanthoxylum [husk]) 30g
- Ròu guì (肉桂 Cinnamomi Cortex, cinnamon bark) 60g
- Zhāng nǎo (樟脑 Camphora , camphor) 15g
- Xì xīn (细辛 Asari Rhizoma et Radix, asarum) 15g
- Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger) 30g
- alcohol (95%) 1 kg
Action: Quickens the blood; disperses swelling; relieves pain.
Indication: Frostbite before ulceration, and sloughing flat-abscess (tuō jū).

Method: Rub on the affected area.
Rationale: Dāng guī, Hóng huā, and Huā jiāo quicken the blood and disperse swelling. Zhāng nǎo disperses swelling and relieves pain. Ròu guì, Xì xīn, and Gān jiāng warm the channels and disperse cold.
