Ingredients
- Hē zǐ (诃子 Chebulae Fructus, chebule) (with core removed
??? ) 10g - Xìng rén (杏仁 Armeniacae Semen, apricot kernel) 10g
- Tōng cǎo (通草 Tetrapanacis Medulla, rice-paper plant pith) 2.5g
Indications: Loss of voice from enduring cough.
Method: Take with warm after meals.
Rationale: Hē zǐ is a warm, bitter, sour, and astringent that constrains the lung, and is noted for its specific power to treat enduring cough and loss of voice. Xìng rén is a warm bitter agents that eliminates phlegm, relieves cough, and calms panting. Tōng cǎo is a bland water-disinhibiting agent that drains the lung.
