Ingredients

• Dǎng shēn (党参 Codonopsis Radix, codonopsis [root]) 12g
• Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 12g
• Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root]) 9g
• Bái biǎn dòu (白扁豆 Lablab Semen Album, lablab [bean]) 12g
• Shān yào (山药 Dioscoreae Rhizoma, dioscorea [root]) 15g
• Yù jīn (郁金 Curcumae Radix, curcuma [root]) 9g
• Dà fù pí (大腹皮 Arecae Pericarpium, areca husk) 24g
• Shǐ jūn zǐ (使君子 Quisqualis Fructus, quisqualis [fruit]) 24g
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 4.5g

Indications: Liver flukes.

Method: Decoct with water. Take one lot per day, for four days, and then take Liver Fluke Formula 2 (gān xī chóng èr fāng) for 5–7 days to complete one course. Two to four courses may be necessary

Rationale: In addition to liver flukes, this formula also treat roundworm, hookworm, tapeworm, Clonorchis sinensis, and Fasciolopsis. This formula fortifies the spleen and supports right qì, and with Formula 2 expels worms. For the best worm-expelling action use small unsliced Bīng lángs and Shǐ jūn zǐ that has no mold.
