Ingredients

• Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root]) 8g
• Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root]) 3g
• Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome]) 3g
• Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root]) (or Dǎng shēn (党参 Codonopsis Radix, codonopsis [root])) 3g
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried) 3g
• Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 3g
• Dà zǎo (大枣 Jujubae Fructus, jujube) 4 pieces
• Máng xiāo (芒硝 Natrii Sulfas , mirabilite) 6g

Actions: Harmonizes, resolves, and attacks the interior.

Indications: Lesser yáng disease with interior repletion characterized by constipation or tidal heat effusion with inhibited diarrhea.

Method: Decoct with water.

Notes: This is Xiǎo chái hú tāng (小柴胡汤 Minor Bupleurum Decoction).
