Ingredients:

• Lù jiǎo jiāo (鹿角胶 Cervi Cornus Gelatinum, deer antler glue) 10g
• Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 10g
• Bǎi zǐ rén (柏子仁 Platycladi Semen, arborvitae seed) 10g
• Tù sī zǐ (菟丝子 Cuscutae Semen, cuscuta [seed]) 10g
• Bǔ gǔ zhī (补骨脂 Psoraleae Fructus, psoralea [fruit]) 10g
• Lù jiǎo shuāng (鹿角霜 Cervi Cornu Degelatinatum, degelatinated deer antler) 20g
• Shú dì huáng (熟地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, cooked rehmannia [root]) 20g

Action: Enriches kidney essence; astringes essence and quiets the spirit.

Indication: Seminal emission or premature ejaculation with signs of insufficiency of kidney essence and insecurity of kidney qì such as aching lumbus, deafness, frequent urination in the night, dizziness, lack of strength, listlessness of essence-spirit, and bright white facial complexion. Tongue: Pale with white fur. Pulse: Sunken, fine, and weak. Can also treat persistent flooding and spottingf, vaginal discharge, or spontaneous discharge of breast milk due to insecurity of kidney qì.

Rationale: Lù jiǎo jiāo nourishes essence-blood as well as warming and invigorating kidney yáng. It is a powerful agent with a broad action. Shú dì huáng and Tù sī zǐ boost yīn and secure yáng, and with the Lù jiǎo jiāo supplement both kidney yīn and kidney yáng. Bǔ gǔ zhī is acrid and very warm, and with the Lù jiǎo jiāo it supplements the kidney and invigorates yáng. Bǎi zǐ rén and Fú líng promote interaction between the heart and kidney, helping to quiet the spirit. Lù jiǎo shuāng has a powerful essence-astringing action that is further enhanced by Bǔ gǔ zhī.
