Action: Clears heat and disinhibits dampness; frees the channels and network vessels.

Category: Dampness-dispelling formulas / Heat-clearing dampness-dispelling formulas
Method: Decoct with water.
Rationale: Chì xiǎo dòu and Huá shí combined with Zhī zǐ and Lián qiào clear heat and disinhibit dampness. Bàn xià combined with Yuán cán shā dries dampness and transforms turbidity. Because the disease is in the channels and network vessels, Fáng jǐ and Yì yǐ rén are used to clear heat and disinhibit dampness, and to dispel wind and relieve pain. The lung-diffusing qì-disinhibiting action of Xìng rén promotes qì transformation, which eliminates dampness.
