Source: Jīn Guì Yào Lüè 金匮要略

Ingredients

• Kǔ shēn (苦参 Sophorae Flavescentis Radix, flavescent sophora [root]) 6–10g

Indications: Stubborn lichen (xiǎn), ulceration, sweat papules, and Hongkong foot with itching.

Method: Decoct with water.

Rationale: Kǔ shēn clears heat, dries dampness, and kills worms (parasites), and is traditionally indicated for scab (jiè), lài, malign sores, and any itchy skin condition.
