Ingredients:

• Dǎng shēn (党参 Codonopsis Radix, codonopsis [root])
• Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root])
• Biǎn dòu (扁豆 Lablab Semen Album, lablab [bean])
• Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria)
• Jié gěng (桔梗 Platycodonis Radix, platycodon [root])
• Shēng má (升麻 Cimicifugae Rhizoma, cimicifuga [root])
• Tōng cǎo (通草 Tetrapanacis Medulla, rice-paper plant pith)
• Wū yào (乌药 Linderae Radix, lindera [root])

Action: Supplements qì, raises falls, lifts the fetus, and frees urination.

Indication: Shifted bladder (urinary stoppage in pregnancy) due to qì vacuity.

Method: Decoct with water.

Rationale: Dǎng shēn, Bái zhú, and Bái biǎn dòu supplement qì and bear the fetus. Shēng má and Jié gěng lift the fetus. Wū yào warms and perfuses lower burner qì. Guì zhī and Tōng cǎo transform qì and move water to free urine. The formula as a whole thus boosts qì to lift the fetus and abduct urine.cite[252]zyfk
