Chuānxiōng and Asarum Decoction
芎辛汤 〔芎辛湯〕xiōng xīn tāng
Source: Sān Yín Jí Yī Bìng Zhèng Fāng Lùn 三因极一病证方论
Ingredients:
- Shēng fù zǐ (生附子 Aconiti Radix Lateralis Cruda, raw aconite [accessory root])
- Shēng wū tóu (生乌头 Aconiti Radix Cruda, raw aconite wild aconite main root)
- Tiān nán xīng (天南星 Arisaematis Rhizoma, arisaema [root])
- Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger)
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried)
- Chuān xiōng (川芎 Chuanxiong Rhizoma, chuanxiong [rhizome])
- Xì xīn (细辛 Asari Rhizoma et Radix, asarum)

Indication: Wind-cold or qì vacuity phlegm reversal with headache, dizziness, and
Category:
Method: Ingredients in equal proportions. Grind to a rough powder.
Dosage: 12g at a time decocted with 5 slices of fresh ginger and a little tea.
