Costusroot and Amomum Stomach-Calming Pill
香砂平胃丸 〔香砂平胃丸〕 xiāng shā píng wèi wán

Ingredients
- Cāng zhú (苍朮 Atractylodis Rhizoma, atractylodes [rhizome]) (stir-fried) 2400g
- Hòu pò (厚朴 Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, officinal magnolia bark) (mix-fried) 2400g
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel) 2400g
- Mù xiāng (木香 Aucklandiae Radix, costusroot) 48g
- Shā rén (砂仁 Amomi Fructus, amomum [fruit]) 480g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 480g
Actions: Harmonizes the stomach and checks vomiting; normalizes qì and fortifies the spleen.
Indications: Spleen vacuity food damage with disharmony of the stomach duct, nausea
Method: Grind to a fine powder, blend with water, form into pills, and coat with talcum.
Notes: This is a variant of Píng wèi sǎn (平胃散 Stomach-Calming Powder).
