温清饮 〔溫清飲〕 wēn qīng yǐn

Ingredients
- Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica) 3–4g
- Shēng dì huáng (生地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, dried/fresh rehmannia [root]) 3–4g
- Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root]) 3–4g
- Chuān xiōng (川芎 Chuanxiong Rhizoma, chuanxiong [rhizome]) 3–4g
- Huáng lián (黄连 Coptidis Rhizoma, coptis [root]) 1.5–2g
- Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root]) 1.5–3g
- Zhī zǐ (栀子 Gardeniae Fructus, gardenia [fruit]) 1.5–2g
- Huáng bǎi (黄柏 Phellodendri Cortex, phellodendron [bark]) 1.5–2g
Indications: Menstrual irregularities, flooding and spotting, vaginal discharge, or menopausal syndrome due to heat; itching due to blood heat.
Rationale: Dāng guī, Shú dì huáng, Bái hāo, and Chuān xiōng constitute Sì wù tāng (四物汤 Four Agents Decoction), which supplements and quickens the blood and regulates menstruation and which can be used for menstrual irregularities and flooding and spotting.
