Center-Regulating Qì-Boosting Decoction
调中益气汤 〔調中益氣湯〕 tiáo zhōng yì qì tāng

Ingredients
- Dǎng shēn (党参 Codonopsis Radix, codonopsis [root]) 15g
- Huáng qí (黄芪 Astragali Radix, astragalus [root]) 15g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried) 3g
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel) 9g
- Shēng má (升麻 Cimicifugae Rhizoma, cimicifuga [root]) 6g
- Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root]) 6g
- Cāng zhú (苍朮 Atractylodis Rhizoma, atractylodes [rhizome]) 9g
- Mù xiāng (木香 Aucklandiae Radix, costusroot) 9g
Actions: Boosts qì and upbears yáng; dries dampness and fortifies the spleen.
Indications: Spleen-stomach qì vacuity with damp encumbrance characterized by glomus and fullness in the stomach duct and abdomen, reduced eating, lassitude of spirit and shortness of breath, and lack of strength in the limbs.
Method: Decoct with water.
