Liver-Coursing Powder
疏肝散 〔疏肝散〕shū gān sǎn
Source: Zhèng Yīn Mài Zhì 症因脉治
Ingredients:
- Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root])
-
苏梗 - Qīng pí (青皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, unripe tangerine peel)
- Gōu téng (钩藤 Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis, uncaria [stem and thorn])
- Zhī zǐ (栀子 Gardeniae Fructus, gardenia [fruit])
- Bái sháo (白芍 Paeoniae Radix Alba, white peony [root])
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel)
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root])
Action:
Indication: Anger stirring liver fire with distending pain in the rib-side, and frequent frights during the night, and thirst with large fluid intake.

Method: Grind to a powder and take drenched.
