Ingredients
- Chuān xiōng (川芎 Chuanxiong Rhizoma, chuanxiong [rhizome])
- Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root])
- Bàn xià qū (半夏曲 Pinelliae Massa Fermentata, pinellia [tuber] leaven)
- Xiāng fù (香附 Cyperi Rhizoma, cyperus [rhizome])
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria)
- Shén qū (神曲 Massa Medicata Fermentata , medicated leaven)
- Jú hóng (橘红 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum, red tangerine peel)
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root])
Indications: Infertility due fat causing congestion of the uterus in obese women.
Rationale: Bàn xià, Jú hóng, and Bái zhú dry dampness and eliminate phlegm. Xiāng fù and Shén qū disperse stagnation. Chuān xiōng disperses depression and quickens the blood. All these agents together free the congestion. Fú líng and Gān cǎo help to eliminate dampness and harmonize the center. Chinese medicine observes that obese people tend to have copious phlegm. This formula addresses infertility due to by eliminating dampness and phlegm.
