Buddleia Powder

密蒙花散 〔密蒙花散〕 mì méng huā sǎn

Ingredients

Indications: Wind qì attacking the eye with clouded vision, copious discharge, aversion to light, and millet sores (small yellow sores that bear the appearance of millet seed on the eyelid), and external eye screens.

Method: Ingredients in equal proportions. Grind to a fine powder.

Dosage: 3g after meals.

Rationale: Buddleia, Shí jué míng, Mù zéi, and Jú huā are important agents for eye diseases, all having the effect of calming the liver and brightening the eyes. Jí lí disperses wind and brightens the eyes as well as quickening the blood and transforming stasis. It not only addresses the evil, but also increases blood circulation in the area of the eye. Qiāng huó dispels wind.
