Buddleia Powder
密蒙花散 〔密蒙花散〕 mì méng huā sǎn

Ingredients
- Mì méng huā (密蒙花 Buddleja Flos, buddleia [flower])
- Qiāng huó (羌活 Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, notopterygium [root])
- Jú huā (菊花 Chrysanthemi Flos, chrysanthemum [flower])
- Shí jué míng (石决明 Haliotidis Concha, abalone shell)
- Jí lí (蒺藜 Tribuli Fructus, tribulus [fruit])
- Mù zéi (木贼 Equiseti Hiemalis Herba, equisetum)
Indications: Wind qì attacking the eye with
Method: Ingredients in equal proportions. Grind to a fine powder.
Dosage: 3g after meals.
Rationale: Buddleia, Shí jué míng, Mù zéi, and Jú huā are important agents for eye diseases, all having the effect of calming the liver and brightening the eyes. Jí lí disperses wind and brightens the eyes as well as quickening the blood and transforming stasis. It not only addresses the evil, but also increases blood circulation in the area of the eye. Qiāng huó dispels wind.
