Center-Supplementing Qì-Boosting Variant Decoction
加减补中益气汤 〔加減補中益氣湯〕 jiā jiǎn bǔ zhōng yì qì tāng

Ingredients
- Huáng qí (黄芪 Astragali Radix, astragalus [root]) 9g
- Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root]) 9 gr (or Dǎng shēn (党参 Codonopsis Radix, codonopsis [root]))
- Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root]) 6g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried) 3g
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel) 6g
- Shēng má (升麻 Cimicifugae Rhizoma, cimicifuga [root]) 3g
- Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root]) 3g
- Ē jiāo (阿胶 Asini Corii Colla, ass hide glue) 6g
- Ài yè (艾叶 Artemisiae Argyi Folium, mugwort [leaf]) 6g
Actions: Supplements qì and raises yáng; calms the fetus.
Indications: Fatigue, lumbar pain, abdominal distension, excessive or insufficient movement of the fetus, and scant flooding and spotting in constitutionally weak women in the fourth or fifth month of pregnancy. Pulse: Fine, slippery, and forceless.
Method: Decoct with water.
