Wrinkly foot

皱脚 〔皺腳〕zhòu jiǎo

A form of swelling that occurs in late pregnancy, characterized by thick rough skin with a somber hue and not associated with any other discomforts. Wrinkly foot arises when the growing fetus inhibits qì dynamic. It usually disappears spontaneously after delivery. In women with qì-blood vacuity and insufficiency of the lower origin, with damp qì pouring downward to cause pain, it can be treated with Qì-Normalizing Blood-Nourishing Decoction (顺气养血汤 shùn qì yǎng xuè tāng).
