Worm disease resembling epilepsy

虫病似痫 〔蟲病似癇〕 chóng bìng sì xián

Signs similar to those of epilepsy such as forward-staring eyes, clenched jaw preventing speech, loud shouting and crying, drool foaming at the mouth, white or green-blue facial complexion, and rigidity of the extremities.

Medicinal therapy: Use Bovine Bezoar Pill (牛黄丸 niú huáng wán) taken with a decoction of chinaberry root bark (Meliae Radicis Cortex, 苦楝根皮 kǔ liàn gēn pí). Alternatively, use Mume Pill (乌梅丸 wū méi wán) prepared as a decoction.

Biomedical correspondence: biliary ascariasis.
