When yáng abates, yīn hides

阳杀阴藏 〔陽殺陰藏〕 yáng shā yīn cáng

From Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, yīn yáng yìng xiàng dà lùn). Yīn responds to a contraction, recession, or weakening of yáng qì by a corresponding tendency to become latent or disappear. See yīn and yáng are rooted in each other.
