When evil qì is exuberant, there is repletion

邪气盛则实 〔邪氣盛則實〕 xié qì shèng zé shí

From Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, tōng píng xū shí lùn). In the course of disease, exuberance of evil qì and the violent reaction of right qì manifests as a repletion pattern. Vigorous heat effusion, absence of sweating, vexation and agitation, mania, abdominal pain that refuses pressure, constipation and reddish urine, and forceful slippery rapid pulse are all repletion signs attributable to exuberant evil qì.
