Cinnabar field
丹田 〔丹田〕dān tián
1. An area three cùn cùn below the umbilicus, believed by Daoists to be the chamber of essence (semen) in males and the uterus in females.
2. Any of three mustering positions in qì-gong, including the lower cinnabar field xià dān tián located below the umbilicus, the middle cinnabar field zhōng dān tián located in the pit of the stomach (scrobiculus cordis), and the upper cinnabar field shàng dān tián located in the center of the brow.
