Turbid qì

浊气 〔濁氣〕zhuó qì

1. The turbid rich part of the essence of grain and water. Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, jīng mài bié lùn) Food enters the stomach, the turbid qì goes to the heart, and spreads essence to the vessels.

2. Cold evil.

3. Foul air, e.g., exhaled air or flatus.

4. Heavy matter as distinct from clear yáng. Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, yīn yāng yìng xiàng dà lùn) states, Clear yáng is heaven; turbid qì is earth. When turbid qì is above, there is distension.
