Toad-egg menses

经如虾蟆子 〔經如蝦蟆子〕 jīng rú hā má zǐ

The passing of moles (fleshy masses) bearing the appearance of toad eggs during menstruation; occurs when the period is overdue and the patient suffers from drumlike distension of the abdomen. The patient may be comatose.

Biomedical correspondence: hydatiform mole (hydatic mole, grape mole).

Medicinal therapy: Treat by dual supplementation of qì and blood with Perfect Major Supplementation Decoction (十全大补汤 shí quán dà bǔ tāng).
