Straitened spleen

脾约 〔脾約〕pí yuē

From On Cold Damage (伤寒论 shāng hán lùn, biàn yáng míng bìng mài zhèng bìng zhì). Constipation arising when splenic movement and transformation is impaired and the stool becomes dry. The Annotated Cold Damage (注解伤寒论 zhù jiě shāng hán lùn) states, Straitened means tight of resources or constrained. A strong stomach and weak spleen constrains the fluids, preventing their distribution in the four directions and allowing their transportation only to the bladder. This causes frequent urination and difficult defecation.
