Stomach yīn
胃阴 〔胃陰〕 wèi yīn
Also stomach juices; stomach liquid. The fluids of the stomach; the opposite of stomach yáng. Stomach yīn is necessary for maintaining normal intake and transformation of food. Stomach yīn is easily damaged by exuberant lung-stomach heat in warm heat disease, causing heat effusion, dry mouth, dry pharynx, constipation, red tongue with scant fur, and a rapid fine pulse. When the tongue is crimson and shiny, stomach yīn is depleted. This requires urgent use of cool sweet moisturizing items.
