Stomach governs downbearing of the turbid

胃主降浊 〔胃主降濁〕wèi zhǔ jiàng zhuó

The stomach sends food down to the small intestine. The spleen removes essence of grain and water, which is the clear part of the food. What remains is the turbid part, which after further transformation, is discharged from the anus.
