Insufficiency of liver-kidney yīn with vacuity fire flaming upward. If hyperactive liver yáng is prominent, it is treated by fostering yīn and subduing yáng, using Gastrodia and Uncaria Beverage (天麻钩藤饮 tiān má gōu téng yǐn); if effulgent kidney fire is prominent, it is treated by enriching yīn and downbearing fire, using Anemarrhena, Phellodendron, and Rehmannia Pill (知柏地黄丸 zhī bǎi dì huáng wán).
