Spleen distension

脾胀 〔脾脹〕 pí zhàng

1. A condition described in The Magic Pivot (灵枢 líng shū) as follows: In the case of [distension of] the spleen, there is hiccup, vexation in the limbs, heavy body that makes dressing difficult, and unquiet sleep. Spleen distension is usually caused by cold qì exploiting the spleen.

Medicinal therapy: Use formulas such as Stomach-Calming Poria Five Decoction (胃苓汤 wèi líng tāng).
