Sinew tumor

筋瘤 〔筋瘤〕 jīn liú

A tumor (a growth on the outside of the body) characterized by purple coloration, with green-blue veins entwined over it and some protruding like worms.

Biomedical correspondence: phlebangioma; varicosity. A sinew tumor is attributable to anger stirring liver fire, blood dryness, and sinew hypertonicity.

Medicinal therapy: Clear the liver, nourish the blood, and soothe the sinews. Use Liver-Clearing Aloe Pill (清肝芦荟丸 qīng gān lú huì wán).

Etymology

Chinese:jīn, sinew, visible vein; 瘤 liú, tumor.
