Running piglet

奔豚 〔奔豚〕bēn tún

One of the five accumulations (kidney accumulation). A disease characterized by a sensation of upsurge from the lower abdomen to the chest and throat, accompanied by gripping abdominal pain, oppression in the chest, rapid breathing, dizziness, heart palpitation, and heart vexation. This pattern is considered to be one of the five accumulations and is a result of an upsurging of yīn cold qì of the kidney or liver channel qì fire ascending counterflow.

Medicinal therapy: For an upsurging of yīn cold qì of the kidney, use Cinnamon Twig Decoction Plus Extra Cinnamon (桂枝加桂汤 guì zhī jiā guì tāng) or Poria, Cinnamon Twig, Licorice, and Jujube Decoction (茯苓桂枝甘草大枣汤 fú líng guì zhī gān cǎo dà zào tāng) to warm and disperse cold evil. For liver channel qì fire ascending counterflow, use Running Piglet Decoction (奔豚汤 bēn tún tāng) to clear the liver and downbear counterflow.
