Regular water

正水 〔正水〕zhèng shuǐ

From Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Cabinet (金匮要略 jīn guì yào lüè, shuǐ qì bìng mài zhèng bìng zhì). Water swelling arising when spleen-kidney yáng vacuity allow water to collect in the interior and ascend to distress the lung. Regular water is marked by general water swelling, abdominal fullness, rapid panting, and a slow sunken pulse. The lung is the tip, whereas the spleen and kidney are the root. It is treated by fortifying the spleen, warming the kidney, and promoting qì absorption. See water swelling.
