Quick and slow supplementation and drainage

A method of achieving supplementation and drainage that involves varying the relative speed of insertion and extraction of the needle. A slow insertion followed by a quick extraction supplements, whereas a quick insertion followed by a slow extraction drains. See needle manipulation (technique).
