Palpitation below the heart

心下悸 〔心下悸〕xīn xià jì

1. Palpitation felt in the region below the heart, i.e., in the stomach duct. From On Cold Damage (伤寒论 shāng hán lùn, biàn tài yáng bìng mài zhèng bìng lùn), After excessive promotion of sweating, when the person crosses his hands over the heart trying to press the palpitation below the heart, this is treated with Cinnamon Twig and Licorice Decoction (桂枝甘草汤 guì zhī gān cǎo tāng).
