Orifice
窍 〔竅〕qiào
Any one of the openings of the body. The upper orifices or clear orifices are the eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth, and tongue, whereas the lower orifices or turbid orifices are the anal and genital orifices. These are collectively referred to as the nine orifices.
Etymology
Chinese: 窍 qiào, aperture, opening, literally or symbolically in the sense of receptivity and alertness. English: from Latin orificium, orifice.
