Opening, closing, and pivot
开、合、枢 〔開、合、樞〕 kāi, hé, shū
From Opening
means open to the exterior; closing
means confined in the interior; pivot
means located between opening and closing. Among the yáng channels, greater yáng (tài yáng) governs opening, yáng brightness (yáng míng) governs closing, and lesser yáng (shào yáng) governs the pivot. Among the yīn channels, greater yīn (tài yīn) governs opening, reverting yīn (jué yīn) governs closing, and lesser yīn (shào yīn) governs the pivot.
