Murky eye obstruction

混睛障 〔混睛障〕hùn jīng zhàng

Also qì obstruction. A turbid gray-white eye screen like ground glass covering the dark of the eye, that in severe cases is dark red with red vessels and with a red aura around the dark of the eye. Murky eye obstruction is also associated with tearing and aversion to lightand is attributable to long-depressed liver channel wind-heat or damp-heat causing damage to yīn and causing blood stasis.

Biomedical correspondence: parenchymatous (interstitial) keratitis.

Medicinal therapy: Dispel wind and calm the liver; disperse stasis and abate screens. Use Rehmannia Powder (地黄散 dì huáng sǎn) as oral medication and Obstruction-Abrading bright spirit Paste (磨障灵光高 mó zhàng líng guāng gāo) for topical application.
