The application of moxibustion on a round cake of fermented soybean (Sojae Semen Praeparatum, 淡豆豉 dàn dòu chǐ) as an insulating medium. Moxibustion on fermented bean cake is used for welling-abscess (yōng), flat-abscess (jū), and effusion of the back (fā bèi) that have ruptured but fail to heal and that are dark and blackish in appearance. Moxibustion on fermented bean cake helps the sores to close.
